Pot calling the kettle black

A one-woman protest has started on the street right outside my building. She is banging a small tin pot with a ladle. From what I can discern she is protesting about not being able to sleep due to the noise from the bar directly below us. This racket has woken everyone from their siestas and there are currently several dressing-gowned people on their balconies shouting at her to shut up.

The bar in question is a small Columbian family bar where there seems to be always someone getting married or indoctrinated. While the latino ballads do seem to keep going to the wee small hours, they are not particularly raucous and we’ve had no trouble sleeping, having barely noticed the goings-on. This woman lives in the flat just below us, so I can’t see how her experience can be much different.

What’s most ironic/aggravating about this is that this woman owns two dogs, which bark all day at anything walking by on the street. These dogs are far louder than Shakira (or whatever it is Columbians listen to) and the only thing likely to keep you awake. Anyone that has stayed here will attest to this.

Maybe I’ll go bang a pot outside her door.

No-one likes a hypocrite.

I don’t have a gun. Maybe I could drop a large anvil on them from above.
