o2sms
Posted: February 16th, 2009 | Tags: Hacking, o2sms | 4 Comments »o2sms is a useful program to send SMS messages using the websites of Irish mobile operators. Despite its name, it supports all four major Irish operators – o2 Ireland, Vodafone Ireland, Meteor Ireland and Three Ireland.
I created this program and maintained it for several years, but I have since left Ireland and so have little interest in continuing to maintain it.
So… I have moved the project to SourceForge. Hopefully this will diversify maintainence and ensure continued development should I drop off the planet :) If you want developer-level access, please contact me.

I still think Ireland needs a mobile phone company called Orga.
How hard would you say it would be to port o2sms to an android app? Why pay for texts when you can use the interwebs! :-)
Regarding the android app… once I get my hands on one to play with, I’ll have a go at writing an app. I’ve been playing with the Android SDK for a while now. Seems very possible.
Hi
I’ve been using the o2sms perl tool for a few years now and its great for sending system status mails such as low drive space, one question how do i insert carriage returns into my texts to make them more readable
