Bioparc Valencia

Seeing as the temperatures were hitting 40C this week, we decided we might as well pretend we were in Africa and went along to Bioparc Valencia, a full immersion type safari park zoo thingy.

Better than a zoo, the animals have plenty of room to roam and the surroundings are more like their natural environment. Think more Boabab trees and lagoons than concrete cages. You can also get right in with them; the lemur enclosure being particularly interactive.

Here are some photos. I didn’t get any pictures of the aardvarks because the battery ran out.

Today, it’s down to a cool but humid 27C. Thankfully I have more roadworks on the street outside to keep me sane.

I was really lucky at work during summer for the last couple of years; the window beside me looks out over the river, so even on the clammiest, warmest days we had cool air coming in. Now they’ve turned the place across the river into a building site, and there’s constant hammering and machinery and earth moving; it’s starting to irritate.
